Paediatric Education

EDUCATION FOR FAMILIES

Our Family Education program provides teaching support for family caregivers who are preparing to go home or require additional support after discharge. Scheduling of classes are flexible and an interpreter can be arranged if needed. Classes are available 7 days a week. Classes available include:

  • Nasogastric tube care

  • Tube feeding

  • Oxygen saturation monitoring

  • Central venous line care

  • G/GJ tube care

  • Subcutaneous injections

  • Tracheostomy care

  • Suctioning

Education for Home & Community Care Providers

Our Community Education program provides workshops and webinars for home and community nurses who are caring for children with medical complexity. Topics include:

  • Paediatric Tracheostomy

  • Pulmonary Clearance

  • Enteral Feeding Tubes & Enteral Therapy

  • Invasive Ventilation

  • Non-invasive Ventilation

  • Vascular Access Devices

If you have a home care nurse that would be interested in attending a workshop or webinar, please speak with your health care team or care coordinator in the community for more information.
