Description

This competency-based workshop will prepare the community health-care provider with the knowledge and skills to care for a child that requires pulmonary clearance. Respiratory assessments, safety issues and various methods of pulmonary clearance including suctioning, postural drainage, percussion and vibrations therapy, mechanical in-exsufflation and lung volume recruitment will be addressed. Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills throughout the workshop. This workshops runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pre-requisites: Participants should have a basic understanding of the respiratory system. Registered participants are required to complete the pre-reading material prior to attending the workshop in order to fully participate in the learning activities planned throughout the day.

It is strongly recommended that registered participants watch the following videos and review the learning package prior to attending the workshop in order to fully participate in the learning activities planned throughout the day.
