SITUATION:
This week’s QuickHit! comes from Connected Care Live consults from home and community nurses inquiring about how to sign up for Connected Care workshops and online webinars.
BACKGROUND:
Connected Care offers free, competency based educational workshops and online webinars to help support regulated community health care providers in caring for children with medical complexity and technology dependence in the home care setting.
Workshops combine theoretical content with application of knowledge and skills using simulation. Online webinars complement the education workshops and provide an overview of up-to-date nursing practices related to the care of a specific medical technology.
ASSESSMENT:
Education modules offered within Connected Care include:
Paediatric Tracheostomy
Home Ventilation with a Tracheostomy
Non-invasive Ventilation & Mechanical In-exsufflation
Enteral Feeding Tubes and Enteral Therapy
Vascular Access Devices
Pulmonary Clearance
Online webinars offered within Connected Care include:
